Our venue is Waypoint Ventura - a vintage trailer hotel in downtown Ventura, blocks from the beach. The welcome dinner on Friday night, the wedding ceremony, and the reception dinner will all be hosted at Waypoint. We look forward to seeing you there!

Getting to Ventura

Flying

There are multiple easy airport options for getting to Ventura. - LA International Airport (LAX) is the largest, with the most flight options and typically the lowest cost(~80 minutes from Ventura).- The Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) is closest (~30 minutes from Ventura), although it is smaller.- The Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) is another small airport option (~60 minutes from Ventura).

Ground Transportation

There are rental car options at all local airports. If you'd rather not drive, we have had good luck in the past with the <a href="https://www.venturashuttle.com" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Airporter Shuttle</a>. This takes you from LAX to a hotel on the south edge of Ventura (an easy Uber/Lyft from our venue and suggested hotels). Once you're in Ventura, we think you'll find plenty of activities and food options within walking distance.

Accommodations

Our venue (<a href="https://waypointventura.com" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Waypoint Ventura</a>) has a limited number of vintage trailers. Unfortunately, there aren't enough to accommodate all of our guests. If you haven't received communication from us about staying in a trailer by late-August 2025 (or if you've heard from us, but prefer to stay in a hotel), we suggest exploring the following hotel options:

The nicest hotel of our suggested options, the Hotel San Buena is right in the heart of Ventura and a short ~10-15 minute (0.5 mile) walk from our wedding venue.

If you're a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCrqUEthhIY" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Little Miss Sunshine</a> fan (or prioritize access to the beachfront), you might enjoy the Crowne Plaza. An easy pedestrian bridge over the highway keeps your walking commute to our wedding to around 10-15 minutes.

The Clock Tower Inn is the most affordable of our recommended options. A lovely spot, it comes with a longer walk to Waypoint (~20 minutes, 1 mile).

Within Walking Distance

Wander over the pedestrian bridge for some beach time, a walk northward along the&nbsp;boardwalk towards Surf Point to check out the surfers, and of course out to the end of&nbsp;<a href="https://visitventuraca.com/business/ventura-pier/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Ventura Pier</a>&nbsp;for great views of the foothills and coastline. Waypoint has bikes available for guests, and there are also bike rentals in the parking lot next to the Ventura Pier. There is biking along the waterfront or ambitious folks could bike up to Ojai. For this more strenuous&nbsp;option, we recommend renting suitable bikes at&nbsp;<a href="https://www.venturabikedepot.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Ventura Bike Depot</a>. The rail trail to Ojai is about 15 miles and starts right near the Ventura Bike Depot. <a href="https://www.sanbuenaventuramission.org/tours---museum" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Ventura Mission</a>&nbsp;is on Main Street if you are looking for an historical outing. A family favorite are the&nbsp;<a href="https://venturabotanicalgardens.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Ventura Botanical Gardens</a>&nbsp;that wander from behind the courthouse up into the foothills. They make a great morning walk with gorgeous views of the ocean.

More in the Ventura Area

There are whale watching trips from the Ventura&nbsp;Harbor. You can also rent&nbsp;<a href="http://venturaboatrentals.com/HomePage.html" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">kayaks and paddleboards</a>&nbsp;down at the harbor.

Further Afield

Montecito and Santa Barbara are 25 and 30 minutes up the coast to the north, respectively. If you have little ones, or even if you don't, we recommend the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.sbzoo.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Santa Barbara Zoo</a>&nbsp;for an outside adventure and the&nbsp;<a href="https://moxi.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Moxi</a>&nbsp;(an interactive children's museum just a few blocks from the ocean. Ojai is about 25 minutes inland from Ventura and is a beautiful town with many restaurants in the downtown area, and great hikes in the foothills. If you're in the mood for a glass of wine, you can stop along the way at&nbsp;<a href="https://www.oldcreekranch.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Old Creek Ranch Winery</a>. One of our favorites spots is the&nbsp;<a href="https://ojaioliveoil.com/pages/visit-our-farm" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Ojai Olive Oil Company</a>&nbsp;where you can have a snack and olive oil tasting in the shade of the olive orchard on the east end of Ojai.
